If I look back at my youth, I established a national Top 20 B2B platform during my university years and was acquainted with two of Jack Ma’s co-founders. Back in 2002, numerous newspapers reported on me, making me quite famous within the university entrepreneurship circles in Hangzhou. What you might not know is that the current profit models of internet companies didn't exist back then; the primary revenue stream for all internet firms was building websites for businesses and government agencies. Usually, a government website could be quoted for several thousand dollars.
In 2007, I served as the Vice President of a company that, while they struggling with its website-building business at that time, now had already become one of the global Top 10 domain registrars. By chance, I received a strange client who wanted us to build a website for a government think tank. At that time, Hu Jintao was the President of China. This client happened to be a former colleague of Hu Jintao from his youth in the Tibet provincial government. Once we completed the site, we discovered that those participating in the internal network discussions were high-ranking officials, famous opinion leaders, and various celebrities.
As an administrator, I could see them discussing issues in a stupid, illogical manner. I couldn't bear to watch any longer, so I chimed in using my account. They never expected a young person to possess such high intelligence and a statesman’s vision. Consequently, they pulled me into the think tank, which allowed me a full glimpse into the inner workings of CCP think tanks. These so-called "think tanks" are actually akin to intelligence agencies; many of the celebrities and opinion leaders within them are there because of connections to various departments or top leaders. Furthermore, what they discussed was not for the good of China, but rather what would benefit the United States! Yes—people like me, who defended Chinese interests, were considered outliers and even faced attacks from them. This is something the outside world can hardly imagine.
Later, Hu Jintao's team felt that my intelligence was exceptionally high and wanted to groom me as a future leader of China. They even told me that if I agreed, they would dispatch intelligence agencies to erase all my traces and remarks from the internet to repackage me as a high-ranking official. At this juncture, my friend, the Dutch nuclear energy expert Dr. Li Jianmang, advised me against joining the government. He said that people with our level of intelligence could become billionaires just by doing a few projects, so why get involved in dark politics?
This is why I later resigned from the company and established the nation’s largest Free Hosting service in 2007. I believe it was likely the largest Free Hosting service in the world at the time, as it was impossible for a larger one to exist in the U.S. then. However, this record didn't last long. In 2009, the CCP launched an "Anti-Vulgarity Campaign," which wiped out all private Internet Data Centers (IDCs). At that time, if there was even a single bikini photo on your server, they would pull the plug. The most despairing part was that you couldn't find the specific department responsible to resolve the issue. Usually, the Chinese police manage the internet, but the police said the bikini photos weren't illegal and that they hadn't shut down our servers. Thus, I went bankrupt during that wave. Rumors in the industry suggested that this was a result of collusion between Jack Ma and the CCP, as his Alibaba Cloud subsequently devoured the entire market share. This allowed me to truly understand what my friend Dr. Li Jianmang meant by "dark politics."
It is difficult for the outside world to understand China's internal decision-making mechanism because the CCP has no real think tanks. Their so-called decision-making bodies are filled with American spies, lunatics, madmen, and socialists. For a country dominated by such madmen, once it enters a real war, the CCP regime will rapidly collapse.
